Good night!

Have really enjoyed my self whit "blogwandering" for a while. Real relaxing on a Sunday evening. Read something here, and done a quiz there (yea, I know - it is not hard to see...) But now I'm going to bed early for once. Tomorrow is a jobday this week. And I have to write something for our churchletter (or rather magazine..) - tomorrow morning is last chance! I just have to even though I don't feel up to it!

God bless you!
anne berit :o)

First of all: I'm not an angel. But if I were I would like to be like this one:

Congrats! Your a Pure Angel! Angels, as far as most
of them go, are all compatabile creatures, but
Pure ones simply are symbols of God. Pure
Angels always appear when a child is born, when
a rainbow is seen, or when someone shares their
first kiss. They never grow old, an can appear
in the shape of a naked woman with white, bold
wings. Pure angels are the carriers of god, and
show their love to everyone in the world.

What Kind of ANGEL are you? (For Girls only) This Quiz has amazingly Beautiful Pictures!

Just had to take this one, one of my favorite things are to smile ;o)

You're the cheerful smile,the one that's truly
happy with almost everything you do and would
never change your life.

Maybe there will be one more quiz, but then I stop. (I think...)

And then we all know: I'm Mozzarella. Here is why ;o)

You're Mozarella!
You're Mozarella!
whether you're on pizza or in stick form, everyone
likes you! you're very agreeable and laid back.

What Cheese Are You?

This Sunday is a day for prayer and silence. The day has it's own liturgy, whit a long prayer of forgiveness. The text is about a narrow door, that one day shall be closed but for now it is OPEN. You can find the text in Luke 13:23-30. Here is the last part:

People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.
What are your thoughts???

Got an extra hour this night! That did good :o) But now I must run, have service in one and a half hour - and shall meet some youths at ten o'clock. See you in church and have a wonderful day! God bless! Posted by Hello

This was what the moon looked like a few nights ago! So red and cool. Found this picture at www.astronomi.no (Norwegian site). I know there were some clouds here, but I wish I could have stayed up that night..... Well, next time is in 2007, so I'll give it a new try then :o) Posted by Hello

After spending the night whit over 500 youths, it is so good to be home! I just had to sheer that whit you before I head for bed :o)

It was a good night, but now I'm tired!!
The girl soccer-team played really good, and missed only one point to play in the finales. Too bad, but still - they did good!

It is a wonderful thing this night late in October where all confirmantes in a greater area meets for a night whit soccer, fun and Jesus. They also gather money for some project, this year it was to the only YMCA in Sudan. And my team was the best boot, and collected most! I'm so proud of my youths, all of them!

Now I will sleep some hours. Have a good one, I'll be out here later on.

My day goes by quickly!

Wrote some words yesterday, but it never got published - so now I just have to make a little post here so you don't think that I am abandoning you! I do on the other hand have little time for blogwriting this week, there is just to much going on at work.

Yesterday we started a new project whit the age 10-12, for a long time we have given each 11 year old a bible. Now we expend the contact whit four meetings and a weekend, plus one-three services. We had a good time together yesterday and I am curios and excited when thinking if this is something that can stuck and be a good tool in the teaching of youths about Christianity and church.

Tonight am going to be awake. In a few hours I and some youths from my congregations will leave for a soccer-cup together whit other youths in the greater area. It is the local YMCA who is behind this night. And it is a lot of fun, but I get sooooo tired tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow my plan is to sleep, sleep, sleep, get me some food, surf some blogs and maybe write some posts, then sleep some more! On Sunday I have two services, and I must stay awake through them both ;o)

Love from anne berit =>

Why not try BlogExplosion?

Yesterday I had no time to surf blogs at BlogExplosion, there were just to many things to do at work. And the result: few visitors! There is no doubt, BE makes a lot of traffic to my blog - as long as I keeps my surfing on top!

I guess most of you who visit this blog already are a member, but if you are not - and you have a blog who you want people to see - this is what you do: Join Blog Explosion :o) Here is a link -->

Then we'll meet again, out collecting credits to keep up our traffic to our blogs....

I once had a blogpet...

But now it seems gone!?! Anyone seen him??

This day is busy, so I'll have to run some more. Shall try to post a little late this evening, we're having a gathering for the congregation whit the headline "Why is there so much evil and pain?" (when God is a good God, why do we get hurt?) Real big question, not answered in an evening - but we have a chance to think together...

"I have looked forward to this since you asked me!"

- said one of my good young helpers at our "Sundays-school on a Tuesday" (:o)...)

It was so nice to hear. I had never imaged that one simple question would mean that much. But I'm soooo glad that I did ask for help! There is always use for an extra hand when working whit children ages 3-10, ....and she's good at it to =>
Today we were about 15 small and big....

Sometimes we just forget, and take all upon our selves. It is some work needed whit asking and helping them to do what are their shores - but it also gives so much back. That is my opinion and experience.

So now I'll just have to remember to ask some simple questions - I'll never know when it means the world for people!

An early morning post - just to say HELLO! Have a busy day ahead, home again at the earlyest 8 PM. Shall meet the pastors in my region and have sundayschool (we acctually have it on a thuesday!) Then there is something to take care of in the office, I'm slow whit paperwork....... :o) Have a wonderfull day!!!!  Posted by Hello

Got books in mail today!

I nearly forgot to tell: I received some books for The English Bookclub in the mail today. For some weeks ago I broke down and ordeded "The da Vinci Code" I simply had to read what everybody was talking about. But I will start whit my favorite: the latest book from Patricia Cornwell, "Trace" - I do love her books about Scarpetta - I'm so curios what crime she shall solve this time. And what will happen whit the other characters I've grown to love?

Ye, and I also got the latest from Tony Parsons "Family Way" - I think he writes so good and warm. I'm looking forward to many weeks of good read. I'll think "Trace" is going to bed whit me in a few minutes! I love my books ;o)

I'm spring...

And I who loves snowmen :o)

You're a Spring. You usually are very close-knit
with your friends and value everyone freidnship
you have. You're a real people person and
everyone loves how friendly you are. You're
good with encouraging people but usually don't
like to be the center of attention. You are a
social butterfly and probably are in several
circles of friends but it's just because you're
well liked and you make people comfortable.
You're both fun and wise but you are very
realistic about life.(If you can't see tje
pics, go to my homepage and look near the
bottom and find your result)

What season are you? (pics)

Not yet winter - but a snowman was needed!

I'm aware of that there has been no sign of snow in my area. (And there is not much snow at all, even in winter). But I felt that my blog needed a cherefull snowman dancing on my blog. And cutecolor (link in heading) helped me find one - THANX!

Isn't he cute???

Now I stole a friends computer ;o)

Coulden't help my self but had to make a little post :o)

I am so happy - my car is in working order again, everythings seems in order. Nothing better than that!!!

Sitting here whit one of my favorite twins on my lap, :o)it is so nice to see them again! (There has been a while since last time!)

I'll write some more later, must go!

anne berit :o)

Got myself a blogpet!

And I who don't even like pet's that much. But this one got me cuorius :o) It is supposed to learn my mood, writing style and more and act upon it. I'm looking forward to learn how this will work and are glad there will be no hair sheds(!)

I think this will be my last blog before I wake up tomorrow - so good night you all! (well, good morning to some of you...)

You'll fint my pet way down on right side!

The girl next door!

Couldn't help my self: a new quiz
And it is over midnight again!!!!

Hm... I think I like to be the girl next door. Like it easy, whit little fuss - and that people stopping by!

Moonlight made the fjord silver!

There has been some beautiful moonlight tonight! I had to drive a little trip and could see it in all it's beauty. There is something whit a clear evening, when the moon light up the landscape. Make you which for a slow walk whit someone you hold near. At least that's what I want :o)

It's been a long day, even though I could use some more hour to finish my work - there is just no more power left in me to do so. I just want to surf around here a little while, and then I'm going to bed early. Hoping for a good night sleep.

By tomorrow midday, if I'm lucky, my car will be all put together again. I hope so, for then I can make my trip to my good friend some 80 kilometer north. Haven't seen her and the twins for a while and I miss them ;o) (This is a hug through my blog <3<3<3)

Best whiches for the week ahead! c",)
anne berit

I promised my self when I started to blog, that I should post a quote from the Bible each Sunday - lately I haven't kept my word. But this Sunday I will!

Had to stand up to early this morning, so I had no time for making a post :o) The ferry across the fjord goes 8:30 am. And I had to take it (even though the service doesn't start before 11:00 am) -> there is nearly 60 kilometers to drive. Today we had invited some children to the service, I also had help of two youths (I so much like that - which that I could prepare the service whit some youths each time... ). I think it is a good idea to use the youths not only to read the scripture but also to be a part of the sermon (and so on).

When I hear the text about Jesus and the children, I can't help but see a smiling Jesus in the crowd of noisy children. There is sure some quiet ones as well. But I do like the thought of my picture of Jesus and the children to be whit real kids!
Here is the last word of the story:

And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

Read all of it in: Mark 10:13-16
How does your picture of the story look like?? (give me a comment (o:)

God bless you!

Took a new quiz ;o)

It's kind of fun, but I'm not sure that it is accurate. (I don't care to much... it lightens up my blog..)

You Are a Life Blogger!

Your blog is the story of your life - a living diary.
If it happens, you blog it. And make it as entertaining as possible.

What kind of blogger are you?

I'm going to bed soon, when I can manitage to tear my self away from the web. I love it out here :o) Don't care much for going to bed as of right now!

See you in church tomorrow :o)
May God bless you kindly!

New blogchalk ;o)

Got myself a Blogchalk,in my endles job of promoting my blog :o) It is so nice when someone will read my blog - and I love a comment (and a link to your blog or webside so I can make a visit!!)

Now I'm soon leaving for work. Was just captured here in space for a while - just couldn't help myself from some surfing ;o)

This is my new blogchalk:

Did you know that the teabag are 100 years old this year?? Neither did I, but when I read my newspaper yesterday I learned that the teabag is in deed that old. I also learned that it was discovered (as so many other things) through an accident.... Hurray for the teabag - and tea tastes sooo good whit a hint of LIME ;o) Posted by Hello

Then it is well over midnight...

So it is time for me to say: GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!! Tomorrow I've decided to stay in bed until I feel awake, so that might take some time.... After my day will be spent in the office, I hope I will get rid of my tall stack of paperwork!! And then I have to prepare the Sunday service.

God bless! :o)

fredag, oktober 22, 2004

And then - boom - it all starts up again!

There is a funny thing about the rural area where I live. That is the months October (the two last weeks that is) and November. After a good and long period where few things happens, everything shall happen in one big booom ;o) Then suddenly there seems to be something to do every day of the week, and the weekend are busy too!

I've only lived here for a few years, and can hardly catch up on everything. Today there is a "town-evening", and I only new about it the last two hours.... But I'm going, no matter how much I should have done at the office. I'll just have to spend my day at the office tomorrow (good thing I don't have a kid yet......!??!)

You know why everything happens in these months (or a lot do happened, there is some thing to do in the other weeks as well..)??? Because there was originally a lot of farmers in this area - there are many yet - and the season are busiest in the summertime..... So easy as that!

So then I have to do some work here, and then I'm of to an evening whit my fellow townsfolk ;o)

Have a good one!

Finally --> peace and quiet

The baking youths are long gone, the house smell nicely of bread. I've been out here for an hour allready. So good to just surf on the web and rearrange my blogs right side once again ;o)Got some new bottons as well (I like those ;o)....)

I got my self a feedburner - I placed it in the bottom (on the right side)..... because, well there is not so much use for it on my own site I think.... But the code I need for my other site when it is opp and going!

Here is the Feedburner:

Maybe you will make a link to my blog?? Make me a note if you want the code ;o)

Well, the rain had to fall sometime :o)

And I'm glad that it didn't start until after the funeral... It is not good to stand outside when the rain is pouring down. Now it is ok, even though the early afternoon get quite dark.

It has been a day whit many shores. And I'm not finished yet. This evening two youths will come to me and we shall bake bread for the next Sunday. We shall also prepare the service together. I find it so giving to prepare the service together whit some youths. They have a different perspective. I learn so much. And we all experience that when we do things together it gives so much more meaning. It touches our life. And nothing (well, not many..) gives me more pleasure as a minister than youths who are proud of themselves and touch by the service we've held together.

My hope is that some adult also will see this, and beg me for being involved and a more active participant. Maybe one day! ;o)

I will appreciate your comment on the Sunday service. What do you like, what do you want different and why do you attend church???

May God bless you all!
anne berit :o)

Today my car broke down!

I was heading for a really busy day this morning. Stayed in bed to long, so my good intention of reading the Bible in the morning lasted only one day..... (but there is always tomorrow ;o)!!!) I tried to make a little blog, just to say hello, this morning - but the machine cut me off and decided to make a stop. And then I had no more time, and had to run.

Started the engine of my beloved car (as normal..) - and then it broke!!!!
I got awake real fast. This was not a good day for my car to stop moving. But it did, and I had to go back inside and call for help..... You can imagine how happy I was about my morning!!! Grrr! (this is in Norwegian, I guess the English term is something like: arrrrhg! But I'm not quite sure - hope you get the idea...!)

Luckily there was not to big of a damage to my engine, just something that had to be installed again (in new version) - but it will of course take some days to get the part shipped to this rural area. (But it will not be to bad if there only are any part in the country - and I guess there is!) My car is an American Ford Explorer, I love it - but it cost me to much money sometimes!!! I am also happy for me living right here where I am, because we have short way for "carhelp". But my care is still at the auto repair, so now I'm leasing a car (and that costs me money as well...)

The rest of the day went as planned (even though I got seriously late...) I went for a seminar about children and church. Then I had to prepare the funeral tomorrow. The evening we had a meeting of our local church council. Puh!!

It is so good to be home at last! Soon I'm jumping down in front of my telly. I'm going to view 7th Heaven recorded on Monday....... I think that I maybe will have something to view in the weekend to, have little time for video tomorrow as well!

But some last words: I told my local church council about my forthcoming adoption (and the year in permission, as we have here in Norway) AND THEY WERE SO HAPPY FOR ME! I'm so glad! It meant a great deal to me that those whom I'll meat on a regular basis - and who has much to say in the church life - wanted to support me! This is a good community to be a part of!

Then I'll be off!
There will not be much from me tomorrow either, but then it will be some more hours to spend on the web in the weekend! See you later!

Got my coffee and my bibel, and made a pitstop :o)

God morning! (or something like that!)

A few days ago I discovered a site that is going through the bibel in a year, whit comments. As a pastor, I often read in the Bible because of work - but I have had some trouble structuring my self for reading more than just workrelated.

So I made myself a good cup of coffee, fetch my Bible and made a stop at Dougs site Coffeeswirl, and read a few chapters. Time will show if this is something I will continue whit! But I sure liked the idea of making some of the post in the blog be a bibelstudy.....!

Make Doug a visit you to!

By the way, got myself a new thingy on site: a vers of the day ;o) Now we're talking!
Need some help whit the heading of the site, noone got a good idea or a good link (to something free.....) I will apriciate some help - I also are not happy whit my sidebar, it is a mess :o)

Have a good day! God bless!!

Thursty?? A real refreshing drink, easy to make: press lime into a tall glas (half to one lime depending on the size of the glas) add just a little touch of orangejuse - fill up whit wather (and maybe some icecubes)--> just delicius! Posted by Hello

Had forgotten how good it is to be outside... :o)

In my "to-fast-speeded"-life I just had forgotten how good it makes me feel to spend some time outside. It is so easy to just dump down in front of the telly (or the web...) - but being outside doing stuff gives the extra something.

So now I'm all bottled up, and soon the wood will all be in my garage and not outside in the rain! As you can see of my mood I'm quite happy with myself :o) (well, there is nobody else to say it - and somebody has to do it! That's how it work......)

Tonight I'm trying to do a lot of work on my photo presentation that shall follow my documents south. The photos shall be of me, my familiy and friend, my house and so on. It takes some time to collect the right pictures, so I must head on whit it if I shall finish by the end of this month!

See you later!

My day off work!

Monday is may day off work (since I often work Sundays). It is the day I do nothing or everything, it depends on my mood and how tired I am(!) Some days I just can't put my self to do anything, but usually I at least do some laundry or clean up in my house..

Today I am supposed to do a lot of phone calls, but I rather spend my day here on the web - just cruising around ;o) Well, soon I shall pull my selves together but first some word here from me to you!

The reason for my phonecalls are the paperwork concerning the adoption, there is a lot of forms and document that I have to collect, so I just have to get started!!!!
After I will go out and do some wood piling, get the rest of it into the garage (I took over half of it on Saturday, so it is a nice job out in the sunshine..)

And I have some other shores to do on the outside as well. My garden are not a pretty sight! But I'll wait for the spring and new chances....

Have a good day!

Stumble upon this great, though small, site on the web through a link that got me curious.....

I become a supporter and now you can see a big banner here on top of all the post's. I do want to support a cause that fight for everyones ecual value!!! Please be a supporter as well, clik on the banner - and read. Join me and take a stand! We can make a difference! Thogether we can change the world (a little bit at a time!)

A strange thought...

Often I think about my child waiting for me in Ethiopia. But I have no face to picture, and I don't know if it's going to be a boy or girl.... She or he doesn't know about me, and are maybe not even born yet, but still in the spring we shall be family!

It is a strange thought indeed, because I should have been whit my child right now....that is what every mother want isn't it? Been together not only in the future, but from the beginning. But then it doesn't work that way whit adoption, I do know that! I must trust in the government of Ethiopia to choose my child from the many...

I do wonder: Who is she/he? What is his/her favorite thing to do? How will he/she react to a new mother? Has she/he a troubling life, or is there somebody to trust?
I can go on and on.... Somewhere is my child, I can hardly wait for us to meet!

Hard time at work??

This will make you feel better:

The Employee Handbook 2004

SICK DAYS: We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

SURGERY: Operations are now banned. As long as you are an employee here, you need all your organs. You should not consider removing anything. We hired you intact. To have something removed constitutes a breach of employment contract.

PERSONAL DAYS: Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturday & Sunday.

VACATION DAYS : All employees will take their vacation at the same time every year. The vacation days are as follows: Jan. 1, August 15 & Dec. 25

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or coworkers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early, provided your share of the work is done.

OUT FROM YOUR OWN DEATH: This will be accepted as an excuse. However, we require at least two weeks notice as it is your duty to train your own replacement.

RESTROOM USE: Entirely too much time is being spent in the restroom. In the future, we will follow the practice of going in alphabetical order. For instance, all employees whose names begin with 'A' will go from 8:00 to 8:20, employees whose names begin with 'B' will go from 8:20 to 8:40 and so on. If you're unable to go at your allotted time, it will be necessary to wait until the next day when your turn comes again. In extreme emergencies employees may swap their time with a coworker. Both employees' supervisors must approve this exchange in writing. In addition, there is now a strict 3-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, and the stall door will open.

LUNCHBREAK: Skinny people get an hour for lunch as they need to eat more so that they can look healthy; normal size people get 30 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure. Fat people get 5 minutes for lunch because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim Fast & take a diet pill.

DRESS CODE: It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing $350 Prada shoes & carrying a $600 Gucci bag we assume you are doing well financially and therefore you do not need a raise.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions comments, concerns, complaint, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternations or input should be directed elsewhere.

Have a nice week,

My day...

....has been quiet and stressfree, I like that soo much! It is good to have a day whit time to spend. I even got around to pile up some of my wood for next year. They have been laying outside in the rain and that is no good! Now over half of it is in my garage, I'm so proud of my self :o)

Then I have done some more work on the right side --> Still not finished but now you can see witch mood I am in (that can be a good thing!) In a little while an old friend will give me a call, so I have to log of the web quite soon! Have a good evening and night!!

Got tempted to do a carebear quiz...

You may do one to (just follow the link in the bottom of the image).
This is the kind of thing we have room for on a laidback Saturday, don't you think!?

Friend Bear
You are everyone's ideal friend because you are sincere and genuinely kind. Sometimes you worry about your friends' problems so much, you forget about your own responsibilities, which can get you into trouble. For you, it's the little things that really count. You also happen to be the main driver of the Cloud Car. No speeding!

anne berit ;o)

Then I'm blogging with Firefox!

How will this be like??
I have to try it for a few days before I can truly answer that but so far, so good. Even though I miss the nynorsk version of my Norwegian language. I kind of liked that it said bilete in stead of picture or image but I'll survive - I got the colors back :o)

I'm going to bed real soon - so have a good night you all!
See you tomorrow c",)

Hope you like it! I still have some work left, but it would be sad to have nothing to do so I don't worry c",)

Now I'm going to download Firefox, then we'll see how that works!

What is a life?

Pincushion gave me a difficult question today as a comment. It was about the little baby Charlotte which are very sick, and no the court has ordered that next time her little heart stops it shall not be restarted whit help of machines. It is a heartbreaking story, which I knew not so much about - but I tried to answer, and here is what I wrote:

As you wished I shall try to give a comment to your post. And it will be a long one.....

Let me first say: there is no easy way in these cases, whichever decision it will be it will cause difficulty and problems for the family and those around.

I do know the cases from UK only through newspaper, web and television. I don't knew a lot about them.

What I do know is that a little child who is suffering touch us (as it should!) There is so much future, so many hopes!

As a pastor I also know that sometimes a little life is over almost before it has started! To loose a child is so hard, I do whish that no one had to endure it! It is the saddest and hardest ting ever to follow a child to an early grave. That is, I think, way we fight so hard for the life of children!!

In a way I think there is something good about not having to decide if your childs life can go on or not. That is a decision no parents should have to make!! But then again the parents view is important when such a decision shall be made..

But sometimes maybe the parents need help to let go of a very sick girl or boy. For surely there is life even though it is a machine that do the breathing and so on. But what kind of life is it?? Is it a life that you would want your child to have? I have to say I'm not sure!

I belive that it is God who gives us life and that he also gave us wisdom and gifts that we use to save a number of lives each day. Also I belive that all those little girls and boys who dies each year goes to a loving and caring God and that they don't suffer. So also for baby Charlotte, if that is what happends.

My heart goes out to these families, and my prayers goes to God!

Please visit Pincushion on her site "The Glass Wall" and read more on this case, there are a link in the heading.

This morning I woke up to sunshine!

I so much love that! It gives me that extra something for the day :o)

Today I shall spend all day at my office, I shall prepare a hole lot of things for the coming Sunday and for other things that are happening in the near future. It is good to have an hole day to spend on these things - my hope is that nothing happens so I must go other places.

Now I eat a late breakfast and are soon heading for job!
Have a good day!

One more thing: has anyone something good to say about the browser Firefox (I hope that is the name....) - or something bad to say? I'm hunting for the perfect browser that gives me color on this blog :o) (I'm sorry to say that Opera doesn't because I so much like it otherwise)

Here is some recent picture from the series. Visit the site http://www.thewb.com/ and search for 7th Heaven ;o) Posted by Hello

7th Heaven..

There is one thing that relaxes me. It is an hour with the Camden family :o)
These days there is rerun of the series and I tape it every day, looking forward to jump down in front of the TV whit some kind of dinner - and a "new" episode.

I smile, cry, laugh out load and get something to think about. Of cause something is familiar since I'm too are a pastor. Something are plain fun! I have no problem seeing the American way in the series, and the American values - some of them I like, some not. But still the series makes me feel good. If I one day has forgotten to set the video, I get upset when there are no video to watch. Sometimes the weekend are long without my hour in 7th Heaven! (Yea! I know I'm hooked!) I wish the series goes on forever, and that Norwegian television keeps buying new sessions!

You haven't seen it yet?? You should!!

Good night!!! Shall try something new: be in bed before midnight.... I need a good night sleep, tomorrow are lots and lots of things to do! Posted by Hello

Hurray for the peacepricewinner!!!!

It took me some time but I finally catch up on some of the big news of lately! This is one of the really good one! A woman winning this years Nobel peaceprice!

Posted by Hello Her name is Wangari Maathai and she lives in Kenya. She is most known for planting trees (a hole lot of them), and getting others to do it as well. She is surely a good winner!

There have been some complaints here in Norway that the peaceprice is give to a woman not involved in peacework concerning one of the many conflicts around the world today - but I think the Nobel committee are just right giving it to a woman that has worked for peace and for the environment through many years.

Hers planting of trees are saving life and giving people something else to do than fighting!!

There is footballtime on my telly....

I don't know anything that boring but an hole evening full of football!!!!!! I'm sorry to say it but I find it not interesting at all (I know there are many who do - so I apologies to you!) - I would rather have a movie or something comedian than football, but nobody listen to me...

I know there is big money at stake, and if anybody will watch I don't mind at all - but why shall it take up an hole evening??

I just ask :o)
It's not a big deal, really!
...Just a little bit bored right now - and still not fully recovered from my stomach-sickness....

There is something that lays beyond word, like sitting by a hospitalbed - not abel to take the sickness and pain away. But able to be there, - and in a way that is help as needed. I will remember to pray for this one tonight, if you pray, pray with me..

Back home!

I have had a real good weekend together with other single mothers and their kids. We have this meeting once a year, this time we was about 70 persons (adults and children) - it is so nice to have such a meetingplace. And so nice to know all these mothers that also have adopted a child, like I'm going to do.

Sadly I got sick the last day, and am not fully recovered just yet. But I hope that I can return to work tomorrow. I simply hate to be sick (even though it is nothing serious!) - and can't wait for my stomach to calm down :o)

I'll be back!

Christmas is all over us!

I don't understand way the rush! It is only October, but still the shops are filling whit thing christmasy --> I don't like it!!!

I want Christmas to start not before the middle of November, or even late November. Now Christmas is all used up long before we reach December. Why is that?? (Well, there is the thing about money...)I like the mystery and the waiting for good things to come.

Well, good morning to you all :o)
On my way through blogs today, I found one that said that smiling makes you happy - so now I try to smile my annoyance on Christmas in October away! :o) (But I'm not sure if I'm smiling when I reach the mall........ )

Anyway: Have a good day!!!

The end of a long day!

It has been a loooong day at work. Now it is nearly midnight and I just got home (and went right out on the web, of 'cause!) I did not start before 10 (am) today, but it's still nearly two days of work. I've had confirmation classes, preparation for a service later this month and a meeting with one of the local churchconsiles I am member of. Plus some hours at the office trying to get a overview over the workload
(I didn't quite finish that one c".)...)

But tomorrow, and a few of the days to come, I have time off! That is a good thing! I shall meet whit a group of single adoptive-parents, and a lot of kid adopted from different countries. I look forward to our meeting, but are not sure how to get over the mountain..... Haven't decided, but I think the car must stand on this side in case of snow...

Now I must go to sleep! I have an early morning appointment whit the, oh.. can't remember the name in English... The one that is always coated in black (at least in comicstips), who once a year - or something - climbs on the rooftop to clean the chimneys.Well, hope that you understand :o)

Have a good night sleep you too!

It has been a strange day -but good! :o)

I've waited so long for an approval, - and to go a step furher in my search for a child. Now I am here, ready for new waiting.....

It has not been easy to work today. Couldn't consentrate at all - hope it will be easyer tomorrow. I have so much I should have done a long time ago! Now I'm going to pop some popcorn and enjoy an hour whit Judging Amy. For so long I can do this by my self in short, I hope, time I maybe must comfort a crying child in the middle of my series....

Well, I doesn't care! I sure know what is more important!!! A lot is going to change. I think a lot about how - and also about how it will be to be a pastor and a single mother to a little child. I don't have all the answers just yet. But I'm sure it will work, and I have an understanding boss --> that is good to know!

As you see: no colors! Still working whit Opera, I like it a lot... BUT WERE ARE MY COLORS AND BOLD LETTERS, MY HTML AND MORE......

Have a good one!
anne berit :D now a mother to be!

I am approved!

This morning I got a letter in the mail. I've been waiting for it for several months, wondering whether it would be a good thing or a bad thing... approval or disapproval. It was big, and I kind of new that it would be good (I also got positive signal last week). On a thick paper, it stood: APPROVED! (Not in so few word actually, but this was the essence...!)

I'm soo glad and gratefully. I've spent the day, so far, sending SMS to friends and family, talking on the phone and simply loosing my contact whit the ground for a while.....

Still wondering what I'm talking about - no wonder (after reading the text above..) Here it comes in bold letter:

Wow! I still can't reach the ground :o)
Now I have to collect some document, make a photo presentation of me and my life and a hole bunch of other things - and then after a month or so, I'll send it all to Ethiopia... And then, if all goes well, in a month or five I will receive a phone call about a child selected to me. I can hardly wait.

And you will be whit me all the way, this blog got an new topic to talk and talk about. Hopefully you will find it exiting too!

Then there is good night from me!

Have collected some bedside-reading about Linux. And are dreaming about penguins tonight! :o)

Still using Opera, but not sure if I keep it, I simply must color my letters from time to time - that's the way it is! But other than that Opera is quite all right!

Tomorrow is a busy day in the office. Many balls in the air at the same time, hope I will remember everything(!)

Lately I have had some problem with downloading from ftp-servers. I'm not allowed - anyone know why???

Well, then it is close to midnight!
Sleep tight!

anne berit ;o)

No visit today sadly!

On Saturday I got a call from a friend, who wanted to visit me this week. Sadly she cancelled on me yesterday due to weather report. So now I'm sitting here all alone, writing my Blog......

Today with Opera web browser, but I'm not sure I keep it! I've gotten used to the chance to color my letters, and html-ing if I wanted something special.... It is nice and fast though!

Have a good evening you all!!

My day....

Today I've been the church of mine that is farthest away, and had service. 60 kilometers by car plus 20 minutes whit ferry is not done quickly. But the place is a beautiful spot at the long fjord. I like to visit!

After I've been at home, trolling through some webpages - and spending most of my time on web at BlogExplosion --> it is addicting, that's for sure :o)

I do not dare to write long tonight, my machine likes to shut down on me! (I hate it!!!!!) So I come back later =>

The text this morning is from John 8:31-36

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Have a good Sunday!
See you in church :o)

A tribute to the winner of my quiz :o)

Looking forward to visit on Monday :o)

I just got a phone from a friend. She asked if it was OK with a visit, and sure it is! I'd love to see her and her 4 months old boy. It will be so nice to catch up on everything since last time we talked in July. And so nice to see her boy again, they changes so fast at this age!

I'm taking it slow today, no fast movements ;o)
I had a good time last night, but there is much to clean up after - today I take a little bit at a time....... And now I get an even better reason for making my house look good, I get visitors soon. They have never been here before, and I want to make a good impression ;o) Well, it's not that big of a deal, but I like to have my house in order to welcome friends in to.... don't you??

Have a good day, and do something nice for your selves this Saturday!

Soon my house will be filled with youths!

And all the silence will soon be gone. There is no way a group of youths on a Friday evening shall be quiet, and that is quite all right! I look forward to the visit, and are wondering what I will learn from them tonight..

Wow there were the first two, I must go!
Have a good evening you too :o)

My hopes are up!

Before I return to my shores, I will tell you some uplifting news about my very own little project. I talked with my caseworker this morning, in a week or two I will get the answer to my application, and she said that I shouldn't worry about the answer.

I really hope that she meant that the answer would be a positive one. So today many worried thoughts has been lifted of my shoulders and I am looking forward to receive the letter in the mail one of these days!

I hope to tell you more about this soon, as an approved person ;o)

The days go by so quickely!

Sitting here and trying to come to my senses, so to speak. These last three days have been days with lots to do, and many people to meet. It's been nice, but also tiering - I'am looking forward to a different speed tomorrow!

Today I've met with some of my fellow workers in the church on regional basis. Our mission this day was to put some of our thoughts and ideas on a paper, and make some guidelines for the teaching. We have a project for those in 5th grade (10-11 years old), they've recived Bible from the congregation for many years. Now they shall be invited to "church school" too, and also a weekend together with youths from a greater erea, next spring. This is our first try on the procjekt and there is much to think about and much to deside. One of my congregation will be the first to try, so soon everything must be in place!

Later I've invited some teenagers, who I earlyer has had as confirmants. They will come to me and we shall make dinner and eat together. That will be nice, I havn't met them since befor summer - now I can catch up. But it wouldn't be finished before midnight, so the time fly again!

Have a good weekend you all. And: don't forget to answer my quiz posted on monday! You'll get one more day to send me answer - so far I've only got from one of you.......

Love, and God bless!
