Wordpress anyone??!

I'm trying to run WordPress with my BlueDomino hosting as a test. Anyone been there before me???? I'm running into some problem; but it might just be the database who isn't ready yet(?) I'm not sure, but will make a contact with support tomorrow if the "installation-bit" still makes error-messages tomorrow. Well: I got to have a hobby ;) Mine is blogging for the time being, and I just wanted to see if WordPress was the way for me to go..... I have a domain and I have to use it for something - why not a blog?? Homepage doesn't sound so funny after blogging here for almost half a year now ;)

Good night! It's way past my bedtime already!!!

---
Update:
This morning I got the site up and running. There is still a lott to learn and work with, so I recomend you stay put at this blog for the time being. But it is a place for me to play and learn - and that's something ;)
Have a very good day everybody!

SundayQuote

Today we have had BibleSunday again in our church (another church than last Sunday) - but instead of using the same or other parts from the text I will use a quote from the text most churches in Norway are using: Revelation 1:9-18.

A colorful text with a unusual picture of Jesus; now he present himself like more than a human being. He is God. No wonder John fall to the earth in awe; but so good to see Christ start with those very words angels do. The words we human long to hear.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever!
This is why I am a pastor - this I want to tell everybody. Do not be afraid. There is someone who was from the start and will be for ever and ever. He is alive; still. His name is Jesus.

Catez have started a new aggregator for Christian women bloggers this week. I've joined and maybe you will too??

Read more about it in Catez blog Allthings2all and see the site
for information on how to participate. The aggregator is for all women who blogs and have faith in Christ, our blogs might be very different - but we have our faith in common. This is a great way to get to know each other!

Thanks Catez :o)

My day - how is yours??

I'm up and going; and now I've even surfing for near an hour! Before that it was some food and talk with friends on MSN, and a little bit of surfing....
It's time for some real work. Today I'm planning to get all the paper out for recycling and make a mild cleaning of my house; it's been a while since last time :) The weather is no good, the sun from yesterday is swished with fog and rain.

So what is your day like??
How do you spend your Saturdays??
And :) how long time do you use surfing these days??

Feast Thirty-Three

Appetizer - If you could have a free subscription to any magazine, which one would you like to have?
There are some Norwegian magazines I would have loved to receive free in my mail (like Landliv); but to be a little more international, I think I would have liked National Geographic to be honest =>

Soup - If you were to suddenly become famous, what would you choose as your stage name?
Is there need for another name than LIME? It's short and lovely green - what else is there... ;o)

Salad - What ingredients make an awesome salad? Dressing? Croutons?
A little hint of LIME, some olive oil (extra virgin, if you please..) and a handful of fresh herbs. Works with almost anything!

Main Course - What do you like most about your current job?
That I am able to meet all ages and share the word of God (the Bible) and see how Jesus Christ makes a difference in peoples life.

Dessert - Who is your favorite instrumental musician (not a singer)?
This time I have to get local. There is some girls on the south-side of the fjord, who last year started a group named Cecam (yes: you heard it here first!!!!) They play many different things, but I think they have a soft spot for Irish-kind of music. One of the girls sings (she also plays flute quite well), but often they prefer to play instrumental. I know three of the girls and they have given me some wonderful music experience when in December they joined me in church on some different occasions! =>

It's just started - go check it out :) Soon the surfing begins!

Today the sun is shining at my place. I've spent the hole day at office trying to find a smart and timeeffective way of mesuring hour spent on different activities (not an easy job - I'll tell you that =>) I have not been much outdoor since this morning, but had to take some pictures. Just to show that the sun acctually does shine here too ;)  Posted by Hello

I needed a new perspective..

So now I've turned my office up side down.

It was no easy job; the desk is big and the room cramped with furniture (or it felt like it for a little while!) My coworkers will think I'm crazy, but this actually helps me think :) And that's what's count isn't it??

What is your most crazy move of furniture????

Go to bed already!

Today I made my self a promise; that I should be in bed no later than 12 pm. And what do you know - I'm still out here 30 minutes too late! But I write as fast as I can.....

When I came home tonight I saw a rerun of Seventh Heaven (as always) while eating some kind of dinner. After nine I've been here - jumping around, trying to answer my comment and visit some new sites and some old blog-buddies. In between I've done some light work in the chicken.

I manage to surf through my entire blogroll (and more) so now I feel like I've met a lot of you ;) It's time for bed!

Have a good night sleep everyone (and to you who already have slept: good morning!)

*hugs*

Digital camera fun ;)

As you might have guessed I have my hands on a digital camera these days ;) I don't own it, but I am trying to learn how to use it. The camera is for the church letter and more, so I will be using it later on as well. This is from my town earlier today. It is still cold and the snow is still with us. It has been no sun though! I've spent the whole day at office working with and on my computer among other stuff (a lot of phone calls..) I've also done some HTML-schooling ;)  Posted by Hello

I have just installed Picasa2 and I made it search for pictures on my computer. This is one labelled wedding.... is there a cake in the bottom?? Anyway I think this was a cool picture - and wanted to share ;) Posted by Hello

Finally I got a new machine at work; a laptop. This is my first writing on it => I have done some downloading of Opera browser (my favorite; even though it doesn't support many important scripts in Blogger...) and Thunderbird e-mail (I have never tried but wanted for some time to do so now I did!)

Soon I've going to do some actually work as well ;)
Have a good day!

mandag, januar 24, 2005

So then I slept the day away!

Today was my day off from work. And what did I use it for?? Yes, sleeping! I was so tired after a long-hour weekend and some busy weeks before that too - so I just stayed in bed a really long time. I think it was needed, even though there is plenty of things I could have done instead. (Like cleaning my house, doing some laundry, surfing and visiting blogpals or going skiing(!) and visiting friends =>) But well, this is what is, now I'll just try to do some of it the remaining hours of the day!

When was the last time you stayed in bed until 3 o'clock??? (..ehe..)

;)

Sunday quote

(this is just a test on Technorati tags.. =>)

Sunday we had Bible Sunday and we read from Luke 8;
The parable about the sower:

A sower I know :) Posted by Hello
“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”

When he said this, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
(Luke 8:5-8)

Jesus explained the parable for the diciples: the Bible was Gods seed and this is what he said about the good soil; the kind of "soil" he all want us to be:

....the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

(Luke 8:15)

My own bed :)

There is something about sleeping in my own bed. Not that I mind other beds or staying over at friends or work related. It is just so good to be back in my own bed after the visit or trip. ;)

I have had two (or more like 1,5) wonderful days with the oh so nice youths. Tonight I left them because I need to leave for service on the southside early tomorrow and it was no use for me there that early in the morning (- and probably not tonight either.)

I am terrible tired (and tomorrow it will ring all over my room) - and have to get out of bed early tomorrow. So this is just to say GOOD NIGHT! Thanks for commenting and I'll be back later =>

God bless you!

Appetizer - What is one quality you really admire about yourself?
I can smile at the world and laughs normally several times a day. (Not that I can't get serious when it is needed!)

Soup - What kind of shampoo and conditioner do you use?
What ever is on the shelf.....

Salad - Describe your favorite movie scene. You know, the one that just gets to you every time you watch it.
I get easily touched of any movie concerning the birth of or upbringing of an infant especially when someone bits the odds..... My all time favorite is Baby Boom (If I remeber right!)

Main Course - If you were a veggie, which one would you be, and why?
I would be a carrot; it tastes so good and are just beautiful all orange and green on top ;)

Dessert
- If you could take a weekend trip within 100 miles of your current residence, where would you like to go?
Then I would go to Vik, - the worlds only place producing GAMMALOST, a cheese with distinct taste and smell, - and visiting friends.

Now --> Tell me yours ;)

A busy weekend!

As many of you probably just can't wait for this workday to end; I'm having a busy weekend and am not sure I want the four o'clock to come :)

From five this afternoon and until midnight Saturday I'm going to be at a camp for those attending confirmation classes in my neighboring parish. K, who is pastor there, are pregnant with twins and I am filling in for her. To be honest: I like this camps and the place we are staying is great. The only thing troubling me are that I don't know any of the youths at all (and there are 43 of them..) I am glad K also are going to stay there, her husband being one of the leaders.

Then there is of course the service on the south side on Sunday; and the remembering of last Sunday..........

Sunday was not my day!

I’ve been meaning to write this for some days, but every time I try to start, the embarrassment gets to me…… This is the story about a day I rather would forget but there is no way – too many knows already!
So here it goes:

On Sunday I did the thing most pastors are terrible afraid of.

Everything started out normal that morning; I was woken at 6:30 by my radio. As usual I turned it of to sleep another 9 minutes before it would wake me again. BUT THIS MORNING IT DIDN’T. Instead of pushing the buzz button I turned it completely off. I had not a chance; sleep swept me away.

I OVERSLEPT! (Oh, I’m getting red just writing it!) Yes, I overslept and didn’t wake up until 10:30 am. The service was supposed to be at 11 am, --> 32 kilometers and one 20 minutes ferry raid away…. There was no way I could make it with just jumping out of bed and pretending it didn’t happen!!!

There was no service for me that day, the congregation gathered in songs, prayers and scripture all by them selves; and had a good time together. I, on the other hand, didn’t have a good Sunday; trying to come to term with it all being not reversible. I wish I could do it again; this time with a huge number of alarm clocks by my bed!

So now you know it too:
An overtired pastor and early mornings are dangerous combinations!!

Can you believe it??

I'm still sitting here surfing even though I should have crawled into bed one hour ago! This blog-surfing-thingy is not healthy!!

..but so much fun...... ;)

Back to work!

It's Tuesday and that means back to work for me. Usually Monday is my day off, this week the only day off(!) Today I woke to a white and quite world. The ever changing weather is over us again. I don't mind; so much better than rain! The power went for about one and a half hour this morning so things got slow - isn't much to do without power so I just stayed in bed a little longer (good plan if you ask me =>)

Now I have been up a while, have had my breakfast (or something that looked like it...), mad my visit to the www and surfed a little. Now I am ready to face the world - and to make my first cup of coffee while browsing through my emails at work..

So gotta go! Have a wonderful day!

Love ;)

My answers...

Here are the answers to your question… I have to say I’m no oracle but then I tried :) Thanks to everyone who partisipatet!!!! Hope you all took time to watch the bonus ;)

From BHR:
1. What is your dream job??
My dream is to be able to work with and on the farm I grow up on! But so far I am not sure how I can make the money-thing work……..
2. If you could be an animal, which one would you be?
Well, an elephant of course (!)
3. What radio station do you listen to the most?
I am not a big radio listener, but when I listen (usually when I’m in my car) – I listen to a Norwegian station: Kanal 24…….

From rockofgalilee:
1. After the fifth plague did Pharaoh fell he could win?
Yes, he did
2. Do parents really influence their children?
Oh, yea they do! But that is not the only thing that influences the children; hence children are not copies of their parents. And then there are the persona we are born as, our given dna. We can't run from that!
3. How big is the bridge?
You lost me which bridge??

From Lord Smert:
Does your religious affiliation have an effect on your political views?
I guess they do, because my belief gives me values and rules which I think it is a good thing to live by. I am not very politically active though.

From Conezy:
1. Do Christians have to follow all the rules of the Old Testament as well as the new?
No, they don’t. With Jesus there is a new beginning. He repeats a lot of the rules and guidelines from the Old Testament though, and the Ten Commandments still helps us in life.
2. Would you like a free photo ipod?
I have to say, don’t know. I’ve seen a lot of offers for free ipod, but since I live in Norway I haven’t paid them much attention. And then I do not know all the much about the use of them either……… ;)
3. If the bible told you to jump off a cliff would you?
I don’t think I would. And if I actually had found that in the bible I think I would have thought it strange; the bible is all about winning life, not loosing it.

From Christine:
1. What is your favorite tree?
It got to be pine; there are lots of big ones in my fathers’ woods! There is plenty of room to sit under them if there ever would be to much sunshine (hard to imagine at this time =>)
2. What color is your favorite winter coat?
Dark blue and violet.
3. Tea or coffee?
Coffee is my favorite blend – but I also take tea ;)

From Ed:
1. What is the meaning of life?
If I knew that without a doubt, I would have been rich! So many asks this question and so many searches the world over to find answer. In a way I think that is good, we need to find meaning in our own life – and others don’t sit on the whole answer for us. On the other side, as a Christian I think that the meaning of life also has to do with Jesus.
2. If all conscious beings ceased to exist, would the universe itself in effect also cease to exist, as there would be no conscious beings to experience it?
No, because then there would be God, like in the beginning!
3. If 0.3 recurring is a third, does that mean 0.9 recurring is the same as 1?
Ehe…… well, number is my thing so I just skip this one….

From The Violin Duchess:
1. What’s your favorite Crayola crayon color?
Don’t know the name, but my favorite color is BLUE (in all shades) ;)
2. What is the weather like where you are?
It rains, rains, rains and rains!!! I’m so tired of the grey weather and whish for sunshine!!
3. What was the last dream you had?
I don’t remember much of my dreams, sadly, but I guess it had something to do with me becoming mother soon. Both scared and so happy about that!

From Sol:
1. Why do you blog?
I love being able to post my thoughts and then speak about it with others. Also to have a page where I can put different links and things and that’s who I am into……. And change whenever I feel in mood for that. ;)
2. What kind of artwork do you like best?
Any paintings or sculpture who tells me a story, sometimes it is a nonfigurative artwork; but mostly it is not.
3. What kind of car do you like best?
I drive a Ford Explorer, but would sure want a Range Rover of some kind… ;)

Give me a question :)

Found this while surfing:

Give me 2-3 questions as comment; and I'll answer all of them in a post late Sunday (my time..) The question can be on whatever you want! Easy or difficult; work-related or private --> you decide!

Keep the question coming people ;)

--
With that I say: good night!
Early day tomorrow - and then some work =>

--> A little bonus for playing! =>

---
Update late Sunday evening:

I have now looked at the question, but I will not be able to answer until tormorrow - the questions need some more thoughts from my side. You are not letting me off easy; that's for sure!! :) This also means you are free to give me more question another 10 hour or so........

Thanks for playing everyone! c",)

Finally: surfing time ;)

After nearly falling asleep in front of the telly I found I had to do some more useful stuff before I hit the sack early tonight! That's when it hit me: go surfing the web. Keep meawake for some more hours!!

Was up so early this morning that it is hard to believe. Had to finish my the words and thoughts on the topic which I should address: youths/young people in church. I'm strong believer in letting the young people into the church and am not afraid of loosing the church seriousness by it. I think the young perspective is as much needed as the adult and even though we have much to teach them - they also has much to teach us!! When both youths and adult are involved in the process of making a service - the result is bound to be good. That's at least my experience!

For some time now my diocese has put focus on the age group from babies to young adult. The ages who most often are lacking in our services, at last in the rural area. Together we try to find new ways to reach them and to make the services and other arraignment available for younger people as well.

What is your thought on these subject:
* Does children and youths/young people and church belong together??
* How can we make all ages feel at home in church???

God bless!

Mental

1. Would you say you have a good memory?
Hm.. not to sure about that a least not when it cames to remember names and people.....

2. Have you ever taken an iq test?
Nope; and are not sure if I ever do - exams are not my favorite game of the year :)

3. Were/are you happy with your grades in school?
I usually was happy with some and devestated by others - but did seldom get the very good grade if it wasn't related to religion or history

Friday's Feast

Oh, I nearly forgot: this is Friday's meme:

Appetizer - If you could have a free subscription to any online service, which would you like to have?
Hm... any one? Then I guess free internet-connection ;)

Soup - Describe your bathroom (furnishings, colors, etc.).
It is kind of a boring room; the wall's are a terrible baby-blue color with flowers design. I try to hid it by using a grass-green shower curtain and have painted the door deep purple (but I'm not all finished with it........) I use normally a dark blue rug; the sink, toilet and closet are all in white. It is not the most beautiful place; but it is not that bad either....! Sometimes I sink down in my bathtub and really relaxes :)

Salad - What does the shape of a triangle make you think of?
Of God; Fader, Son and Holy Spirit. Tree and one at the same time!

Main Course - Name 3 things or activities that you consider to be luxuries.
1) Spend a hole day in a chair with a good book 2) Use the best cup to drink coffee on a "normal" day 3) Go on holiday to New York :)

Dessert - What was the last really great movie you watched?
It have to be: Lord of the Rings 1, 2 and 3. To watch all in a single weekend - o what a dream ;)

at well and have a wonderful weekend everyone!

The never stopping pastor..... :)

Jepp! This is just what I looked like some hours ago! I was kind of upset and angry. (Sorry G!)My longed for day off on Sunday became canceled! I wanted so much not to work.

But then the pastor who should take it for me became sick (instead he are going to have a funeral later next week for me - and that is a good thing! --> since I shall have weekend with youths who attend confirmation classes in the area he is working a week from now). All the other pastors in the greater area is off course busy with their own services.

So it's nobody's fault; but I am still a little sad 'cause it's so hard to get any time off, even when it is needed, and earlier this week I thought it was possible :(

Well, I'll live! => I'm sure it will be a good service; they usually are!

Tomorrow is another busy day for the Lord; so now I'll turn in!
Happy weekend!

The long shortcut....

... or how to travel from Stavanger to Trondheim in a couple of days! (both cities in Norway)

Found this at Google Blogoscoped; and being from Norway and living by the very road that leads between Trondheim and Stavanger..........
I could not keep my hands of this!! Look:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Oh, yea, that's the short cut back home for sure =>

Busy days...

Yesterday was a day packed with things to attend to. First there was the meeting for all of the pastors in our area (others who work in the churches was there as well) - we usually gather once a month and it is nice and helpful in our daily work to share and meet others with similar workload in this way. After the meeting I had just an half hour to prepare for the next. I meet up with a couple who wanted baptism. An hour later the last meeting of the day was with the southsides church council; we had many things on our schedule, but it was good conversation and we all enjoyed our stay together. I had to leave early because of the rising water. (As mentioned in post below).

After such a day, I couldn't bring my self to stay up early (and I didn't have to - instead I have to work most of the afternoon and some of the evening too). So I was in bed a long time this morning!! It was good, of course, but the day goes by so quickly when I do that. :)

Now I'm sitting here at work. Trying to get a lot of things done before I go home around 6 pm. (I probably will bring home with me something to prepare for Saturday...) But I have a hard time concentration; thought maybe a post here would help ;) Then I will take a short trip outside for some air; I've been told that is healthy!

How is your day???
I guess I'm not the only one with a tuff workload =>

When Inga came visit.....

Well, the storm is mostly over, but still the ocean is high. Now it is at it's second highest, I follow the ferries moves. Last night it could not attatch to the pier because of to high water. In a way it is kind of fun to be from the inland and now living close to fjord and ocean :) Much of this is still new to me, and when living high above the pier I don't get water in my cellar....

There has not been to windy here at my village, but I made a trip to the southside tonight and the wind came down on us quite hard. I still can feel the rolls of the ocean after riding home with the ferry ;) It's been reported waves as high as 17 meter out in the open sea, and several cities on the western coast had visits of the ocean in the streets and piers earlyer today. Here are some pictures. The comment is in Norwegian, but you can read the pictures can't you?!

Do I really have to go out in this weather??

I'll rather stay at home, lit my fireplace and work on some upcoming event and services. Outside the rain are pouring down, the wind are blowing and there is a storm coming up. So many reason to stay at home!!

But I can't. I just have to gather some strength and get out of my door. We're having a day for all pastors (and some others) in this area. And, well, I have to show up for that. In a way I have it easy - just 5 minutes drive...... No reason to complaint!?!

So Inga: be nice to us - and don't blow anything away :o)!!

Thank you for bookmarking me at BE

I got the idea from Heater at Of Horses and Hell; now I'm copying it ;)

If you go down my right side you'll see a list of folks who bookmark me at BE, this is my way of saying:

THANKS!!
I really appreciated it!!

I'll try to make an update on the list every week; I know my own bookmark-list at BE changes from time to time... If I have misspelled some name or used a wrong one: please let me know! The same goes for a link that does not work.

Go to church - live longer...

Yesterday I found something that catch my eye in the newspaper. I am a pastor, an liked this a lot. There is nothing like good reasons for attending services at church :o)

There is also a connection between church-going and living long. At the university in Iowa the psychology professor Susan Lutgendorf has found this in a 12 year long study. One of the result was that a person who attended church one time a week had 35 times higher possibilities for a long life that those who never attended church....

I think this is just wonderful, and look forward to a long life ;)

What do you think??

Oh no, my parabole's broken!

When I come home tonight, after making me something to eat, I sat down in my char in front of the telly; Seventh Heaven-time I was still smiling when the band rewind (I taped it earlier today), this is one of my favorite times in the day. But then I stopped smiling; there was no Seventh Heaven - only a read square telling me that no signal had come through. The signals has been a trouble all week, but I thought I'd fixed it on Saturday :(

When I turned on my parabola there still was no signal; just that same red square glaring at me on every channel. I guess my time home doing home-stuff tomorrow will rather be a fix-the-parabola-soon-as-lightning kind of day.

It's not that I have to watch telly all the time. I don't do that (mostly I'm out here on www to be honest! =>) But the thought of not being able to see what I want because of a silly little switch thing (I guess that's the problem – the odd of both heads braking down the same day are not high!) makes me a little crazy! ;)

IT IS THE RAIN’S FAULT! The last months there has been a lot of rain, just pouring down on us. The last time I saw the sun was 26th December; and then I have to go back several weeks before that again. In fact the local newspaper said that this very little village I live in made a (not wanted) record a month ago. In 24 hours it fell 161 millimeter with rain! The normal for the hole of December is 216 millimeter (!) Still wonder why I cry for sunshine????????

A book meme...

This meme I found at Life with 4 kids and a dog. Books is my thing, so this one I could not pass!

Instructions: Copy the list from the last person in the chain, delete the names of the authors you don't have on your home library shelves and replace them with names of authors you do have. Bold the replacements.

Patricia Cornwell
Henning Mankell
Alexander McCall Smith
Jostein Gaarder
Kathy Reichs
JRR Tolkien
C.S. Lewis
J.K. Rowling
Tony Parsons

With that my list is ready; now it's your turn! :o)

Where have all the youths gone?

Today we had service in the church nearest to me. That way I didn't have to get out of bed earlier than 8 am, which was a good thing!! But there still was some things to prepare before the service. (There always are =>) Today I expected to see kind a few youths in church. Earlier I had invited sine 11 and 12-years old to this date. There also was a little girl who should be baptized.

You can imagine my surprise when it turned out that nearly all of the youths didn't show. I had planned songs, prayer and sermon around it. But when I greeted the congregation in the beginning of service I sadly could not say welcome to the youths like I planned. The service went as planned (nearly) we sang the songs and prayed the prayers, and had a good time together. The sermon went well, someone even thought it was up there with the good one (!) The child slept all throughout her Baptism and the sister and her friend fought over the lit candle (it was mostly the friend who got a little jealous).

But still I wondered why the youths didn't show! Maybe they didn't want to; or was it because they didn't want to join the "Program for youths education" (this is the closest I got to the actual name....) Hopefully I meet one of them or their parent tomorrow. For I can feel I getting curios about WHY as many as 12 out of 13 youths didn't show!!

There will be a follow up on this one :)

Weekend Wonderings; a meme...

License

1. Do you have your drivers license?
But of course, I'm a country girl!
2. How old were you when you got them? If you don’t have them yet, how old will you be when you get them?
I got it as soon as I could after reaching the age of 18, the legal age for drivers license here in Norway.
3. Do you have the organ donar section filled out on the card, or will you fill it out?
I don't have that kind of section on my Norwegian drivers license; but if I had I would have filled out a big YES. If ever anyone would have use for my organ, when I didn't any more, I'll be honored!

Too late; but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

For two and a half years now I've been a proud aunt to H S, he came into my life when he was seven years old. A week ago, on New Years eve, he turned 10! Yes; ten! He's a big boy now!

This is a very late, but BIG congratulation for you :o)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I'm sorry that we don't see each other as often as I want to; but this year will be different. We'll meet quite often I'll expect. With me on mothers leave on visit at the farm not far from where you live ;) That I look forward to!

Love and big hugs from aunt anne berit

Happy "Holy Kings Day"

Or maybe you call them wise men? The one form the Bible :) This is the day in the church year when they appear. In some part of Christianity this is the start of Christmas(!) There is tradition in my part of the world to say that this day is the last of the days of Christmas (number 13) - but some says it's not ending until January 13th. My mom always kept Christmas that long. She love this time of year!

It was normal with a special light this evening. The light should have three "arms" and one "foot". Sometimes they hid a tiny little explosive where the three arms met - causing a big bang (not damaging though!). Then they said the Christmas was over with a big salute.... I think that is quite funny; but not entirely safe....

My day is soon over, havn't had hart to put my grandmother "down" before the end of her day :~) Thanks for warming comments, I'll sure tell her!!

Tomorrow I'll have a day off. I think it shall be used to remove Christmas from my house even though it is a little bit early. Then I will be working on my homepage who (finally) is "out" on the great www :)

Happy birthday MORMOR!

Congratulation on your 94th birthday!!!

My dear grandmother (or mormor as I say; meaning mother of mother....) have reach the high age of 94; today! This picture is taken on her 90th birthday. It is a woman with great sence of humor, she got bone in her nose and we have had our discusions over the years :o) She love her family and I love her too!

Wish her all that well is and still some year here with us!
Love and God Bless!

A prayer

Dear God!
I feel that the Christmas time ought to be only good. This Christmas has not been only good. Many people are dead after the tsunami hit. Many children are also dead.
Dear God!
Can you give comfort to all who are sad and feel sorry, so no one is alone when crying. Be with they who lost a sister or a brother. Be with all mummies and daddies who are afraid.
Dear God!
Help us to help those who suffer. And help me too, when I am afraid and sad.
Amen.

A prayer I used in the sevices this New Years weekend. I got it from my national Lutheran "Church Consil". But have no idea who wrote it.

3 minutes in silence

All over Europa will there at 12:00 be a 3 minutes silence in respect, memory and sorrow for those who lost their life when the tsunami hit on 26 th December.

I feel with all effected by the disaster and go quite now!

God Bless our world and bring us hope!

December 26th – when the tsunami hit hard on south east Asia and Africa.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Being approved for adoption!

Not starting to blog before august…… ;o)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not really, but worked too hard in the spring semester! Used the summer vacation to recover…

A domain? I have no idea, but it might have been a book…. I’m not too interested in money after all!

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
I have absolutely no idea! Sorry to say….

17. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Sleeping and visiting friends both next door and farther away!

18. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Working on my days off, and feeling bad about it…

19. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
As always: quite at home until 10 pm, preparing the service and some relaxing… Then leaving for church and service there at 11 pm. 32. What kept you sane?
My faith and the wonderful people I call my friends!

33. What political issue stirred you the most?
That it is easier being a man politician than a woman! Can it have something to do with the voice? And there is still women who get not wanted changes in their jobs because they are pregnant or come back working after mother leave. Do the men want to give birth??

Shall, shall not.....

I've been thinking about seeking professional help for my blogs design. I would love to do it my self, but have to admit: I have no time!!

I've gotten an offer for redesigning the site for $45 USD, it seems like an okay offer I think. Where I'm in on the process and have to be satisfied with the design before the job on their part is over.

But now I want to ask you!

What do you think?
And: Who would you recommend to me??? (Who as in designer...)

Do animal have a 6th sense??

Do animal know when disaster is about to happen?

In the devastated area of Sri Lanka they haven't found any dead animals. Why is that? Did the animal flee because they, in a way, knew something would happen?

Read the article on Wired News (also: link in heading)

---
Update january 7th.

Josse Ford have more on this subject and some interessting thoughts:

Animals used sixth sense to escape tsunami

There has been a lot of mention lately on the various news outlet how there seemed to be no dead animals from the Asian Tsunami. I think that human beings have this sixth sense as well and it's as natural as breathing or sleeping. We have got out of touch with it because of our fast frantic life and because people believe that it's supernatural ability rather than something each of us has access to. more>>>

Relaxing is needed!

Today I'm having a day off!

I do nothing as of so far. Just slept looooong and then had a bit of food and watched a rerun of sevent heaven. Now it is starting to get dark outside. Ther is snow in the air and soon the ground will soon (again) be covered with white, cold stuff. I've lit a lot of candles and are going to take it slow and easy all day long. I need this after a long time with lot of work!

Hope you are having a good day as well!

Love

Now it's time for coffee - and maybe some BE.......????!!!

New Year

It has been a strange new year celebration so far. Normally it is celebration with rejoicing and smile, this year it has been most a time to think and hope for another day without feeling so helpless.

In our churches the services has been highly affected by the tsunami, we've prayed, we've chosen songs that suited the sadness of this years beginning and the sermons have been full of it as well. I've spoke about tsunami; a name we just learned, a name who make us scared and fill us with sorrow and fear. The tsunami took the life of many more people than we can manage to understand.

But there is a stronger name: JESUS. It's a name which bring peace, security and hope. Jesus brings light where there is dark and life where there is death. He brings future where it is no tomorrow - he is our hope.

The world is still full of sadness over what happened, a sadness for war and hunger happening other places as well. Jesus doesn't take it all away - but he is there and he is here. Like he promised.

Tsunami

Did you know the word is Japanese??
It means: WAVES IN HARBOR --> tsu = harbor and nami = waves

A harbor is the safe place for waves caused by the wind. But sometimes waves are caused by other things (earthquake) then the waves reaches even inside the harbor!

A day to remember, a day for grief

Today we have a day of grief and remembrance in Norway (and Sweden). Our flags are not happily waiving on top, they are lowered down on half pole - the sign for grief. I wish my weather pixie could do that as well, now that the flag is waiving.

I am of for a service in one of the churches across the fjord. Instead of the happy color of white I am going to wear the purple color of grief and sorrow. It will be a different new years day. Now we will mourn, later we can rejoice. But each day the Lord are with us; today his name shines - JESUS.

God bless this world!

Best wishes for the new year!

Even though we enter the year with a major disaster behind us - that we don't even know the full consequence of; I want to wish you all the best for the new year!! I know I wait for something new and life-changing :o)
